CNA Announces Participation In 2016 Chicago Charity Challenge

CHICAGO, April 21, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- CNA today announced its participation in the Chicago Charity Challenge, a nine-month competition in which businesses team with nonprofits and compete to contribute volunteer hours and money to Chicagoland charities. CNA has chosen Chicago Lights as its nonprofit partner and will engage with them throughout the remainder of 2016.

"CNA takes great pride in our legacy of corporate social responsibility," said Sarah Pang, Senior Vice President, Corporate Communications and Community Involvement, CNA. "We are excited to partner with Chicago Lights to join with community leaders in their work to strengthen the Chicago community that we have been proud to call our home for more than a century."

"Chicago Lights' mission is to provide hope and opportunity to Chicago's children, youth and adults who face the challenges of poverty," said Kate Solis, Corporate and External Relations Officer, Chicago Lights. "Our partnership with CNA in the Challenge will help empower people to thrive academically, secure economic stability, lead healthy lives and build community."

Since 2014, Chicago Charity Challenge teams have contributed $20,426,319 and 68,518 volunteer hours. Friendly rivalry fuels participation and enthusiasm for giving. Teams are invited to gather several times during the year to share ideas, network, collaborate, and enjoy presentations and event games netting additional donations to the charity partner.

"The Chicago Charity Challenge is a great way to motivate employees to give through friendly competition  and make an impact for their charities while building happier workplaces, and we're thrilled that CNA and Chicago Lights have teamed up to answer the call to create a healthier, safer and stronger Chicago," said Stacey Rago, Executive Director, Chicago Charity Challenge.
